Il sogno di molti pentecostali europei s’è avverato: alla sua recente riunione annuale tenuta ad Hannover dal 5 al 7 marzo, la PEF (Pentecostal European Fellowship) ha lanciato attraverso Facebook un nuovo servizio d’informazione destinato sia alle comunità pentecostali sia agli operatori dei media, Pentecostal News.

E’ un servizio a più lingue, anche se l’inglese è quella dominante. Le notizie saranno pubblicate sia nella lingua del paese da cui provengono sia in inglese per assicurarsi che. nel tentativo di avere un’audience internazionale, non si perda il contatto con comunità nazionali. Uno degli obiettivi di Pentecostal News è infatti proprio quello di rafforzare il senso d’identità dei Pentecostali europei e quello di appartenenza ad una comunità che è considerata “il segmento più diffuso della cristianità che cresce con maggiore velocità”. Si calcola infatti che i Pentecostali nel mondo siano oltre 650 milioni.
Il servizio d’informazione è coordinato da Salvatore Loria, nominato dal Presidium della PEF “Coordinatore Media” già nel mese di ottobre del 2013, con ratifica della nomina da parte dell’Assemblea dei Pentecostali Europei la settimana scorsa ad Hannover. In realtà Loria opererà come esperto di comunicazione per tutte le attività della Pentecostal European Fellowship. Nel suo ruolo di coordinatore dei media, Loria si avvarrà della collaborazione di operatori pentecostali della comunicazione residenti nei paesi rappresentati nella PEF.

Launched at The Pentecostal European Fellowship’s Annual Conference in Hannover, Germany, on March 7, 2014, Pentecostal News is designed as a news provider serving the Pentecostal community around the world as well as Media profesionals in the secular arena. It’s a multilingual service with English as its main language. It aims to provide breaking news originating from within Pentecostalism, which, with its over 600 million members, has been widely recognized as “the largest and fastest-growing segment of Christianity”. In reporting church related activities, special events, concerts, statements, comments, our emphasis remains, however, the work of the Holy Spirit, who is the sole protagonist of what makes Pentecostal faith unique.
Pentecostalism moves within a solid-biblical framework. “…this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel: ‘AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,’ God says, ‘THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS”.
Pentecostals around the world find it fascinating to realize that even Mary, mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, Peter and Paul, to name just a few, spoke in tongues.
The editorial staff, coordinated by Salvatore Loria, an Italian certified journalist, a Communication and P.R. Expert, and a Theologian, is made of Pentecostal journalists and/or stringers.
